Our brand world, Raw Refined, explores biomorphic design and how we can harness the beauty of the natural world within EXIST.
The aesthetic feels authentic and elemental, as though capturing a moment in time. Forms are inspired by stones, landscapes, and living systems, while imperfection, tactility, and the ever-changing qualities of nature are celebrated. The concept grounds us in our own planet while considering the landscapes and materiality of others. Exploring how we can live harmoniously and be inspired by what surrounds us.
Materiality is central to this brand world. Organic materials are manipulated into structures or used as backdrops for juxtaposing refined metallic forms.
This tension explores our relationship with nature and how humans have manipulated it through time. It starts a conversation on how we can work symbiotically with the materials and structures of the Earth and how we can design to coexist with nature rather than compete against it, drawing inspiration from how our ancestors connected with the Earth. By highlighting the beauty and materials that make up our world, the concept becomes a visual exploration of nature on both a microscopic and cosmic scale. Imperfections, irregularities, and natural processes are not hidden, but instead embraced as an essential part of the design language.
When we explore this brand world's philosophy through a beauty lens, a natural, skin-focused finish is championed. This allows individual features and skin texture to remain visible and showcases the intricacies of the human form. Earthy tones inspired by clay, sand, and minerals create inspiration for the colour palette, while structural and refined elements are used to enhance features and celebrate form. Metallic highlights or unexpected placements of contrasting colour introduce moments of precision and experimentation.
